Dr. Hui Ma is awarded “Top Ten Academic Young Scholars” by Xi’an Jiaotong University.
Hui Ma, born in 1987, is an associate professor and master’s supervisor of XJTU. His main research interests include high-current vacuum arc theory, high-voltage vacuum interrupter insulation design and vacuum breakdown mechanism, new vacuum switch and vacuum DC switching technology. He joined in the School of Electrical Engineering in 2017, and was selected for “Postdoctoral Innovation Talent Support Program”. He is in charge of 6 research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) youth project and the first-class grant of the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation. Meanwhile, he has participated in many research projects, such as the key project of NSFC and many projects from industries. Now he has published more than 40 academic papers in famous journals, IEEE series publications and international conferences at home and abroad. More than 20 Chinese invention patents and 1 US patent were authorized. He has participated in the compilation of several monographs such as "Vacuum Switching Technology at Transmission Lines" and "Frontier Technology of High Voltage Switchgear Development". He won the best paper award in the 2019 International Conference on Electrical Power Equipment - Switching Technology. He is a member of IEEE and a member of Chinese Electrotechnical Society. Now he is a reviewer of many authoritative journals at home and abroad, such as IEEE TDEI, IEEE TPS, JPD, POP, etc.
The selection of “Top Ten Academic Young Scholars” is conducted once a year and the candidates are new faculty members who have joined the university in the past three years.
